I have worked in the non-profit sector, fundraising, and philanthropy for over 25 years.
The most important experience of my professional career remains my work for the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews – the largest cultural project in Poland developed through a public-private partnership. From 2008 to 2019, I raised private funds for the Museum. Together with my team, we developed a unique approach to working with individual donors, combining American philanthropy standards with the Polish cultural and social context.
I have had the opportunity to work with many outstanding philanthropists from Poland and abroad. It was primarily from them that I learned about fundraising and philanthropy. They helped me understand that a donor’s potential goes far beyond financial support. Donors bring valuable management expertise, business skills and networks, but they also ask very good questions about goals, effectiveness, and the actual impact of the work being done…
